Cellulite And Its Gendered Bias
Don’t get me wrong, I love being a woman, but there are times when it just seems that mother nature is out to get us. What am I talking about? I’m talking about the scourge of summer bikinis and women’s self-esteem around the world: cellulite. The agent of despair that causes us women to invest small fortunes on cellulite cream and skin treatments.
But do you know what the worst of the situation is? It is that this socially stigmatized condition is so seemingly infrequent in men. Now, of course, I know that there are men who suffer the same cellulite-induced anger and shame as we women, and I feel for them. But somebody please tell me, what short-straw did we draw to win such an esteemed condition for the fairer sex?
